Emily Moorefield was raised in Shreve, Ohio. Brought up in the traditions of homemade food from the farm, she has had a long lasting respect for sustainable foods. Emily graduated from Triway High School as an accomplished runner. As an anthropology major, Emily continued her education at the College of Wooster where she was a three-time All-American in track and cross-country. After finishing college, Emily spent two years in Washington D.C. where she worked as a waitress and studied pottery. Emily decided, as did her mother, to make pottery her profession. She moved back to Wooster in 1996 and opened Moorefield Pottery on the corner of Walnut and Liberty. In 1998 Emily moved to her current location on Market Street. Mike Mariola and Emily were married in 2001.
